The Future Shape of [Photo] Journalism?

People are now desensitised to images of war. The age of #citizenjournalism is upon us. While almost everyone has a video camera in their pocket the proliferation of images is diluting the power of what’s their. Far from benign, it’s up to professional journalists to recast the mould, to come up with new ways to get the story across and to let people know what is going on in the world so that people can make educated decisions to try and steer the world toward a better future. This is perhaps where #cinematicjournalism comes in. We need HD video, three angles and surround sound to know how good or bad it is far more than Hollywood does. This is the real world, this is real. I’m sold on it, I might well be there doing it, and you might well be watching it.
